Tuesday, June 8th, 2021
Pizza party: these two magic words can bring family, friends, and offices together for almost any occasion. Whether for a birthday, sports celebration, or staff meeting, this food is a popular and affordable choice to feed a large group of people. Here are some tips you can use to help you plan your next pizza party.
1. Pick a fun location for the party

If you can, choose a location for your pizza party that will enhance the fun. If you are having your party at work, that’s fine too. But, for birthday parties and other events, you should be able to find a number of venues. Bowling alleys, parks, public tennis or pickleball courts, escape rooms, arcades, swimming pools, or even back yards and living rooms are all great options. When choosing a location, keep in mind your budget and make sure you can bring your own food (or have it catered.)
2. Set a good date and time
Pizza can be enjoyed at any time, even in the morning. When planning your party, make sure to keep in mind the times your guests can attend. If it is a kid’s birthday party, consider planning the party for earlier in the day. For adults, pizza parties are often best held in the evening so beer and wine can be served. Weekends and holidays are great days for pizza parties, so if you can, plan your event for these days.
3. Choose the right pizzas
When it comes to pizza, you have virtually endless choices (especially here at 575°). Activities and desserts are great for parties, but the pizza will be the centerpiece. Depending on the preferences of your guests, you will need to order a few different pizzas. You want to make sure there is something for everyone. Follow these tips to make sure you get the right options.
- Go for cheese pizza. This classic will please picky eaters and those with a more adventurous palate alike.
- For the most part, stick to simple, well-known toppings like pepperoni, sausage, or mushrooms. You can even get classic combinations like supreme veggie or meat lovers. Don’t be afraid, though, to use this opportunity to introduce your guests to 1 or 2 of your favorite styles from your favorite pizzeria. Maybe, they never knew some of these pizzas existed. Just make sure these new varieties are a small percentage of the whole order.
- Think about the dietary restrictions of your guests. Make sure you have other options besides traditional pizza available, like salads or side dishes, so that your guests can pick from those options, too. You can also choose a pizzeria that makes gluten-free or vegan pizzas to make sure your guests are happy with their options.
- On that note, pick a great pizzeria! This means going with a place that will give you plenty of options and great customer service.
4. Get drinks to go with the food
You will likely want to get something for your guests to drink. While water and tea are great choices, you can get other things too. Children love soda, lemonade, and juice, so if you don’t mind a little extra sugar, these can be good for kids. Adults can enjoy a good beer or glass of wine with their pizza. You could purchase all of the drinks yourself, or choose a pizzeria that provides them. Some even cater alcoholic beverages or let you pick them up with your pizzas (have you tried 575°’s Signature Sangria available to go by the half-gallon or gallon?).
5. Other tips to help with your pizza party
There are other things to keep in mind when you are planning a pizza party. Keep these in mind to make your party a success.
- Don’t forget utensils, plates, and napkins. These will be used, even though pizza is easy to eat.
- Send invitations to help people remember. They can be themed to your party for a little extra fun.
- Include RSVP cards in your invitations or make a group on social media. This will help you know how many people are attending so you can get the right amount of food and drinks.
- Don’t forget the decorations! Whether you are hosting a birthday party or a New Year’s Eve event, you can find affordable decorations at many stores.
- Consider including activities to entertain your guests. Pizza goes great with any number of things…movie night, cornhole, pickleball, board game or card night, ping pong, or bring your own vinyl night for all you audiophiles.
- And finally, give your favorite pizza place enough notice so they can make everything you need. Many places will even cater your event if you plan with them.
